Two Men Jailed after Shot Gun Fired into Middlesbrough Home

Two men have been jailed for a total of more than 14 years after an incident where a shot gun was discharged through the window of a house where children were present.

The incident happened on 7^th May 2025 on Middlebeck Close, Middlesbrough, at around 11:10pm.

Dwayne Bates and Keiron Robinson, both aged 35 and both of Annandale Crescent, Hartlepool, were sentenced on Thursday 4^th June at Teesside Crown Court.

Both men were in possession of firearms when they attended the address, and one fired the shot gun through the window of the home at short range. The other gun jammed and did not fire. Both suspects then fled the scene. Fortunately, no one was physically injured.

Bates was jailed for seven years and three months.

Robinson was jailed for six years and eight months.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Chris Pringle, said: “This address was targeted knowing that there were potentially young children in there, which is horrifying in itself. The fact that someone was willing to take the chance that they could be hurt is beyond comprehension. 

“I am pleased with this result and that the public will now be protected from Dwayne Bates and Keiron Robinson. The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) has worked hard to bring them to justice for the victims in this case, who have been through a terrifying ordeal. 

“I hope that these sentences bring some comfort to those involved, and that they can now move forward from this.”
