We’re pleased to report that our most recent figures show that house burglaries and vehicle crime have fallen across the force area in the 12 months from March 2025.
Supported by analysts and intelligence officers, our neighbourhood and proactive teams and our detectives work tirelessly to identify any emerging crime trends and hot-spot areas, while looking at potential suspects.
We then consider and implement the most appropriate action whether that’s dedicated plain clothed or highly visible patrols, targeted days of action or planned arrest operations.
House Burglary:
There has been a long-term reduction of 11.4% across the whole force area.
Here are our results for residential burglary, by district. All figures relate to the 12-month period of March 2025-February 2026 inclusive:
Vehicle Crime:
From March 2025-February 2026 inclusive, there has been a 13% reduction (491 fewer reported offences).
Local Policing Chief Superintendent Rachel Stockdale said: “We recognise that having your home or vehicle targeted is extremely traumatic and can have a significant impact on victims, so we welcome these reductions.
“But there’s always more work to do and that’s why, on a daily basis, I ensure our officers work together with partner agencies and local communities in a considered and co-ordinated manner to see that anyone involved in these crimes is identified as quickly as possible and dealt with.
“In the meantime, I’d like to thank residents for their ongoing support and to signpost anyone wanting crime prevention advice to the Cleveland Police website.
“I would also encourage all residents to sign up for Cleveland Connected which will allow people have direct updates from police regarding what’s happening in their community, what the policing issues are and - most importantly - what our neighbourhood officers are doing to tackle them.”
