The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team attended to assess the device and have confirmed that the device found in Chantry Close, Middlesbrough early this afternoon (Thursday 31st July) was not explosive.
Police were alerted to an unexploded device when it was dug up during some work being carried out on the watermains in Chantry Close, Middlesbrough at around 12:30pm today.
