Middlesbrough Proactive Team seized six nuisance bikes yesterday – off-road and electric –whilst they were out patrolling yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 30th July.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team attended to assess the device and have confirmed that the device found in Chantry Close, Middlesbrough early this afternoon (Thursday 31st July) was not explosive.
Police were alerted to an unexploded device when it was dug up during some work being carried out on the watermains in Chantry Close, Middlesbrough at around 12:30pm today.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with ten counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and one count of perverting the course of justice and is due to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on Wednesday 30th July. He remains in custody at this time.
