Today's Operation Artemis focuses on tackling domestic abuse across the Cleveland area.

Officers today gathered for an early-morning briefing ahead of a domestic abuse focused Operation Artemis.
The briefing saw Assistant Chief Constable Wayne Fox talk to officers about the day's activities with officers pursuing high-risk perpetrators and safeguarding victims from harm.
This type of activity is what our officers do day in and day out to protect people and our communities.

We have made 12 arrests so far as part of Operation Artemis today.
The suspects have been arrested for a number of different offences including rape, assault and harassment.
Following some earlier warrants and arrest attempts, our officers arrested 12 people for a variety of different offences.
These include:

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and two counts of breaching bail after being arrested by officers today.
This follows the earlier arrest of a 56-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of common assault.
Another arrest makes 15 in total so far under Operation Artemis!
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of breaching a Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO).

Cleveland Police has secured 151 Domestic Abuse Protection Orders (DAPOs) in the first four months of a Home Office and Ministry of Justice pilot.
All of these DAPO applications were submitted by police and granted by the courts to provide further protection to victims of domestic abuse.
The force was selected as one of the pilot forces to start implementing DAPOs which provide enhanced protection for victims through the enforcement of wide-ranging prohibitions.
Unlike some existing protections, DAPOs have no time restrictions and perpetrators can be arrested if they breach the order.
