Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams are proud to police the area of Cleveland, which covers the districts of Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough.
These teams are made up of police officers, police community support officers and special constables, and are supported by officers from other departments. They work to prevent crime, protect communities, tackle criminals and make sure those intent on causing our communities harm are stopped.
Our officers often run community drop-in events, and work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to shape our policing priorities for the area and find solutions to community problems.

Criminal use of bikes - Normanby
Issued 26 May 2026
Normanby
Greater Eston Neighbourhood Team are continuing to tackle off road bikes in the Normanby area especially around Flatts Lane Country Park. We currently have ongoing talks with the MATRIX team to consider new options on tackling individuals who use off road bikes illegally. We relay of information from members of the public to inform us where this is occurring and act on that information. I continue to urge the members of the community to provide information that will be held in confidence and never shared outside the Police environment. We are running specific operations that target these individuals such as Endurance and Checkpoint. We have carried out these operations where we have managed to successfully remove quads and bikes from various locations due to support from the community. We have dedicated and monitored patrol routes during our operations. Our focus will continue to build our intelligence identifying locations to target unlawful off-road bike owners. We are looking at new tactics soon to tackle off road motor bikes so we can hopefully have more success moving forward as technology improves.
