    Youth Anti-Social Behaviour and Community Harm

    Action taken:

    Youth-related anti-social behaviour continues to impact communities across Middlesbrough South, particularly within Coulby Newham around the Parway Centre and McDonalds, Hemlington around the lake and Viewly Centre, Marton shops, Park End and Beckfield, Longlands and Beechwood, and Berwick Hills and Pallister and Nunthorpe. Residents have reported incidents of stone throwing at vehicles, disorder around retail premises, nuisance behaviour, criminal damage and intimidation.
    Particular concern has been raised regarding:
    •Stone throwing at vehicles in Coulby Newham.
    •ASB around McDonald's, Stainton Way and Dalby Way.
    •Youth congregation in retail and public spaces causing alarm to residents and businesses.
    WHAT MBORO SOUTH NPT WILL DO
    •Conduct targeted high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot locations.
    •Continue joint working with Middlesbrough Council, schools, youth services and housing providers.
    •Use AS13 warnings, Community Protection Warnings and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts where appropriate.
    •Identify repeat offenders through CCTV, drone deployments and community intelligence.
    •Escalate enforcement through Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs), injunctions and tenancy action against persistent offenders.
    •Deliver early intervention and educational inputs to young people and families.
    DESIRED OUTCOMES
    •Reduction in reports of youth-related ASB.
    •Reduction in stone throwing incidents and associated community harm.
    •Increased confidence of residents and businesses.
    •Improved behaviour within retail and public spaces

    Action taken:

    Violence and drug-related criminality remain significant concerns across Middlesbrough South, particularly within Hemlington and neighbouring communities and Berwick Hills & Pallister Park. Drug dealing continues to drive violence, anti-social behaviour, exploitation of vulnerable people and wider community harm.
    The community continues to identify:
    •Drug dealing from residential properties and public spaces.
    •Violence linked to drug supply and disputes.
    •Criminal exploitation of vulnerable adults and young people.
    WHAT MBORO SOUTH NPT WILL DO
    •Target individuals involved in violence and drug supply through intelligence-led operations.
    •Execute Misuse of Drugs Act warrants where evidential thresholds are met.
    •Utilise proactive teams, plain-clothes deployments and drone technology to identify offenders.
    •Work with housing providers and Middlesbrough Council to seek Closure Orders and tenancy enforcement where properties are causing community harm.
    •Safeguard vulnerable people who are being exploited through drug activity.
    •Work with schools and partners to educate young people around the dangers of drug misuse and exploitation.

    •Increased disruption of drug supply networks.
    •Reduction in violence linked to drug activity.
    •Protection of vulnerable people.
    •Increased community confidence and intelligence submitted to police
