Off-road bikes & quads- Hutton

Concerns have been raised from residents regarding the use of off-road bikes and quads being ridden illegally and anti-socially. Reports have been made including bikes being ridden dangerously on footpaths and residential streets, causing alarm and serious risk to members of the community.
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team are continuing to conduct high visibility targeted patrols in identified hotspot locations and working proactively to identify those involved. We are also encouraging residents to continue reporting incidents to help gather intelligence.
With the introduction of the Matrix Task Force which tackles the criminal use of off-road bikes, we will be using a mixture of tactics utilising electric bikes which allows our officers to be more agile and responsive. Alongside this, we also have drone technology, which when combined with the new Task Force, this will allow us to track the bikes and follow them to where they are being stored more efficiently and effectively.

Retail crime

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team have received reports of shoplifting in the ward, and we are committed to tackling shoplifting. We are tackling shoplifting through proactive patrols, engaging with businesses and taking action against offenders. Where appropriate, we will utilise Criminal Behaviour Orders to place restrictions on known offenders and prevent them from targeting shops and helping to protect businesses.
