17:22 17/07/2026Just two weeks after pleading guilty at court to a dozen shop thefts in Guisborough, a man who was fined and served with a community order at that time has now been jailed after committing a further 11 offences.

Anti-social behaviour
Action taken:
Some young people have been causing general nuisance in and around shops. We continue to carry out high visibility patrols to prevent, detect and deter anti-social behaviour, and when individuals have been identified they are issued anti-social behaviour warnings and can receive further interventions.
We continue to work with partners to mitigate the effects of antisocial behaviour by identifying those who cause issues in the community and where necessary. We will engage with the young people, schools and community groups to promote positive behaviour and prevent individuals from becoming involved in crime. -

Action taken:
Some young people have been causing general nuisance in and around shops. We continue to carry out high visibility patrols to prevent, detect and deter anti-social behaviour, and when individuals have been identified they are issued anti-social behaviour warnings and receive further interventions
We continue to work with partners to mitigate the effects of antisocial behaviour by identifying those who cause issues in the community and issuing appropriate warnings where necessary in order to improve community safety and reduce ASB. -

We are working closely with local businesses to review CCTV to identify offenders. We are also conducting targeted high visibility patrols inside and around shops to reduce thefts and provide reassurance to members of the community. We will continue to seek Orders against repeat offenders to protect stores from being repeat victims.
