Anti-social behaviour
Issued 26 May 2026
Residents across the ward still highlight ASB as their main concern.
Alongside speaking and engaging with residents, the results of our Neighbourhood Survey which is accessed through the Cleveland Connected platform also reaffirmed that ASB was the top priority for people living in the Ward.
The streets that run parallel to West Dyke Road opposite Redcar Central Station appear to be the most affected at the present time. I have recently done a letter drop in the area of Elton Street. This is in response to an increase in reports of general ASB nuisance and some problem tenants. My letter drop was done in collaboration with the RCBC ASB Team. I have also actively encouraged Cleveland Connected sign-ups in this area. This helps me to gage residents’ opinions that live in the West Dyke Ward, alongside providing tailored alerts relevant to the Ward.
We monitor our ASB calls on a daily basis and link in with residents who report to us. As a team we also proactively patrol and act on any information we received in relation to young people gathering and the potential for ASB. The team has worked hard to identify the main people involved in ASB and we use ASB intervention techniques like antisocial behaviour agreements and injunctions. We will continue to work towards ASB reductions in the area.
