Just two weeks after pleading guilty at court to a dozen shop thefts in Guisborough, a man who was fined and served with a community order at that time has now been jailed after committing a further 11 offences.
Anti Social Behaviour in Zetland Park
Issued 17 August 2026
The crime and ASB figures for the ward remain low. As the summer approaches there is often an increase in ASB figures, this is often around Zetland Park. People should feel comfortable to use the park but aware that we will target those responsible for ASB in the area. The NPT team will continue to attend community groups at Laburnum Library on a regular basis, offering Cleveland Connected sign-ups and cold caller advice and packs. This is a space where the team can have discussions with the public to gain information as well as give advice on ASB and other crime issues. We continue to encourage members of the public to report any incidents to us via the 101 number, online (including the chat box option) on the Cleveland Police website or by using the COPA app. We will continue patrols and regular checks ins to those in areas that are affected by ASB issues.
I have completed extra patrol at hot spot times and will continue to do this. I set up a meeting between police, ERRA members and ASB officer within the council. This was set up to thoroughly discuss ongoing issues and set up plans moving forward. This is now in the process. This is involving other agencies such as training standards and council workers. This is to aim to reduce graffiti, littering and to reduce general ASB in the park. The plan for this is to use 101 report times and dates to be able to review the council CCTV camera, this can then be used to try and identify suspects and act accordingly to the findings. As well as ongoing patrols in hot spot times. I have also completed assemblies to educate youths just before breaking up for school for the summer holidays. This is an ongoing priority to continue to tackle these issues; working alongside the local authority to tackle these problems.
