  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Off-road bikes

    Issued 10 February 2026

    Action taken:

We understand the ongoing issue with offroad and electric motorcycles which are a local and national issue. The neighbourhood policing teams are actively engaging with the younger members of the community and parents to educate them on the dangers and legal status of riding what some see as toys without a valid license and insurance which is required.
We continue to run Operation Endurance that targets and seizes problematic offroad/electric motorcycles. This enforcement approach has led to successful seizures and ultimately the confiscation and crushing of many vehicles over the last few months.

  • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour

    Issued 10 February 2026

    Action taken:

We constantly monitor call levels and speak to the public to identify areas where anti-social behaviour is taking place. Where required we adopt a problem-solving approach, working with partners agencies including community safety from the local authority. Over the past three months we have used powers including dispersal orders in the Hardwick area following a spate of antisocial behaviour and damage to buses and taxis.
This resulted in eight children aged 10-12 being interviewed and dealt with for the offences.
Parents and schools visited to educate children on the dangers of throwing stones at moving vehicles.
At the time of writing we have not seen a repeat of this dangerous activity in the area.
Our neighbourhood policing team regularly attend educational premises to educate pupils/students on the effects of anti-social behaviour on individuals and the community.

We continue to work with the local authority, housing associations and residents to tackle anti-social behaviour.

As part of the neighbourhood policing guarantee Stockton town centre now has four new dedicated police officers to tackle antisocial behaviour, violence and shop thefts.
Some arrests of note include a 35-year-old man arrested and charged with 22 shop thefts and19 breaches of a criminal behaviour order.

A 33-year-old man arrested and charged with 18 counts of shop theft.

The effects of shop theft have a huge impact on local businesses who are already under pressure economically.
We want businesses to thrive and staff to feel safe in the places they work.
We continue to arrest and prosecute offenders and put them before the courts.
Where possible we seek Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBO) of persistent offenders to provide greater control measures on offenders to prevent further offences.

  • Priority:

    Drug use and supply

    Issued 10 February 2026

    Action taken:

In Central Stockton we have continued to target drug dealing, particularly where it involves the exploitation of vulnerable persons, including children
We understand that drug use and the need to fund these addictions leads to raised levels of acquisitive crime and anti-social behaviour for residents in Stockton. We are determined to take robust action against those who profit in the misery of others and bring harm to the wider community.
We ask that the public continue to share intelligence and information with us, as we cannot do this without your help.
We have made several positive interventions and the below is a summary of just some of them

    Fast parcels
Fast parcels remain an issue across the borough, the practice of having illegal substances posted from abroad to addresses in the UK where they are sold for vast amounts of profit. This is orchestrated by organised crime group members, many situated outside of the United Kingdom. They continue to import misery into the area and prey on the vulnerable to accept packages.
We work closely with UK borders agency, post office and other mail providers to identify those receiving the packages and continue to make multiple arrests and seizures of assets.

    Newtown
In Brittania Road, Newtown we have stepped up activities along with the local authority to tackle open air drug dealing.
Multiple arrests have been made along with greater use of stop and search powers.
On 7 December 2025 three people were arrested for possession with intent to supply class A (crack cocaine). Two men were charged and remanded to prison.

We continue to patrol the area and work with partners to close access points to the Old Thompsons scrap yard, replace damaged fencing to reduce access.

We ask that the public continue to share intelligence and information with us, as we cannot do this without your help.
The results below have been directly linked to community intelligence we have received.

Penny Lane Hardwick - 3 persons arrested for conspiracy to supply class A drugs

Willow Road Hardwick - 4 persons arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs

Britannia Road Newtown - Male arrested and charged PWITS class A

Brittania Road Newtown - Male arrested for PWITS and possession of offensive weapon.

Grangefield Road – Ropner male arrested charged and remanded with possession with intent to supply class, Disqualified and dangerous driving.

Dumbarton Avenue- Roseworth male arrested, charged and remanded for possession with intent to supply and possession of criminal property

The area has challenges with Organised crime groups which operate within the town and the wider estates, it is clear to see the effect these groups have on the community from the ASB suffered by residents from address’s which are engaging in dealing and drug use activities.

We will continue to target and act against those that blight the communities with their activities

In the near future, along with the assistance of partners we are looking for fund a seasonal unit to deal with force wide issue that is Electric/ motorcycles and Offroad bikes. This is in the planning stages, and I will keep residents updated in future posts what this will look like and how it will operate.

    Anti Social Behaviour

    Issued 02 June 2026

    Action taken:

We constantly monitor call levels and speak to the public to identify areas where anti-social behaviour is taking place. Where required we adopt a problem-solving approach, working with partners agencies including community safety from the local authority
Over recent weeks we have encountered issues at Britannia Road and Dunmail Road, Newtown stemming from drug use and dealing activities- we have proactively made arrested increased the use of stop and search powers and increased patrol visibility in the area. Along with colleagues from the local authority we are cleaning up the area of rubbish and furniture daily. Along with Thirteen housing we take enforcement action against those who permit this activity within their properties.
A new CCTV camera mast has been installed in the area helping us to identify offenders and those who travel into the area to add to the disruption to the quality of life of the residents of the estate.
As mentioned in previous posts we now have dedicated Town centre officers as part of the neighbourhood guarantee. Since the introduction of the officer’s crime and antisocial behaviour has dropped by 29%.
I know this only shows a snap shot and areas in which you live may have localised issues, I would again encourage you to keep reporting issues to us to help us direct resources into the areas where they are needed most.
