Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams are proud to police the area of Cleveland, which covers the districts of Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough.
These teams are made up of police officers, police community support officers and special constables, and are supported by officers from other departments. They work to prevent crime, protect communities, tackle criminals and make sure those intent on causing our communities harm are stopped.
Our officers often run community drop-in events, and work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to shape our policing priorities for the area and find solutions to community problems.

Crimes with repeat victims in Redcar
Action taken:
We have continued to target this area due to the volume of calls received.
We had a period of well over 100 days where there were no reports of theft from vehicles. This has been a great result and helps reduce the fear of crime. Unfortunately, there were two reports in May, both of which were thefts from insecure vehicles – this really goes to show the importance of locking your vehicles.We have used Dispersal Orders, granted by the Neighbourhood Police Team Inspector, to tackle ASB in central Redcar, and will continue to do so where appropriate.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) involving young people
Action taken:
We continue to work with our local authority and housing provider partners to tackle youth ASB. We combine an approach of enforcement, education and diversion to deal with the issue.
