Retail crime - Skelton West
Action taken:
We regularly follow up on retail crime when it occurs on Skelton High Street. This includes checking store CCTV, identifying suspects and then submitting ID statements. Officers can then conduct arrests of anyone identified, some of whom are repeat offenders. This can lead to prosecutions provided that the evidence is sufficient. We work closely with local retailers to help prevent thefts and advise on target hardening. Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has also increased its presence for the purposes of deterring thefts, reassuring the public and detecting crime.
